1. What is the first thing I should be looking for in a counselor?
You'll usually know within the first 5 minutes of talking with a therapist if the connection is right. Take the time to do the initial phone consultation, look at their website, ask a friend, and read their testimonials. Research indicates the SINGLE most important factor in producing growth/change is the relationship between a counselor and client. But you should also look at specialty areas, experience and background to see if it matches what you need. Read more about my specialties.
2. When are Your Appointment Times?
My typical schedule is:
3. What are your fees?
My fee is $130 for a 1 hour session and $195 for 90 minutes. I offer a package discount if you prepay $600 for five hours of sessions at a time. I do not offer sliding scale fee at this time.
4. Do you accept insurance, EAP, or other third party payer sources?
I only accept Colorado Access/Health First Colorado Medicaid for Denver, Arapahoe, Douglas and Adams County (and there are some other limitations). You can check to see if your insurance will reimburse you for out of network services or you can also use your HSA/Flex spending account if you have one.
5. Where are you located?
My office is near I-25 and Colorado Boulevard located at 4155 E. Jewell Ave., Ste. 703, Denver, CO 80222. It's the building with the balconies behind the Petco. The office is on the north side of the I-25 exit. Take Mexico street East one block to Bellaire street. Turn right on Bellaire and then right on Jewell. See Map
